Austin is jumping for joy over Billy Elliot’s arrival. The national tour of the Tony Award-winning musical begins performances at the Bass Concert Hall on December 11 and runs through December 16, and no one is more excited than the students of the University of Texas at Austin, who performed Billy’s signature leap all around town. Their joyful pics spotlight Hook ‘Em Arts, a program of Texas Performing Arts that engages students with the city's cultural scene. While Billy is in town, the show is doing its part to reach out to aspiring performers like the show’s young hero. On December 15, David Bologna, who earned a Tony nomination for originating the role of Michael on Broadway, will teach a master class at McCullough Theatre for the area's students.
